Enjoy the happy Hawaii vibes in this laid-back studio at the Hawaiian Monarch building. Located at the beginning of Waikiki, this unit offers ac, smart tv, wifi and cable. The Hawaiian Monarch is a secured building that includes a spacious sun deck with grilling area, pool, and hot tub. It is steps away from Waikiki’s shopping, restaurants, nightlife and activities. It is also a short walk to Fort DeRussy Beach Park, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ala Wai Canal and more.

This delightful studio offers city and canal views and sleeps 2. This unit is located on the 8th floor.

*IMPORTANT TO NOTE before booking: Construction noise at the building will be in effect Sep. 3, 2024 through possibly Oct. 29, 2024. Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.*

This home includes a kitchenette with a 2 burner cooktop, microwave, coffee pot, full fridge/freezer, dishes, cups, cutlery and basic cookware. Plus, a bar table set (seats 2 guests).

The Hawaiian Monarch building offers upgraded amenities such as a giant sundeck, pool and hot tub, paid fitness center (one-time nominal fee), paid luggage storage (one-time nominal fee), paid laundry (nominal fee). The building lobby levels also have a locally-owned coffee shop, car rental, King’s (bar), convenience store and restaurant. Building has 24/7 security, elevators and attached, secured garage.

PARKING

This home does NOT come with parking. Paid parking is offered based on availability by the attached garage for a daily fee of approximately $40/day. Please note that the parking is not owned by or offered by us. It is ran by a separate company with no affiliation with this rental, and prices and availability are subject to change at any time.

Nestled at the beginning of Waikiki along the palm-tree dotted Ala Wai Canal, the Hawaiian Monarch offers easy access to Honolulu’s diverse offerings.

Take a short walk to the restaurant-filled Hilton Hawaiian Village or the adjacent protected bay for swimming, picnic-ing and paddle boarding. Explore nearby Fort DeRussy Beach Park, soft-sanded beaches, famous restaurants, surf lessons, paddle board rentals, and shopping. Close to Hawaii Convention Center, Royal Hawaiian Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Center, Diamond Head State Monument and more.

    From the shabby, $3 curtains ,to the floors which were dirty, to the ridiculously oversized refrigerator, which is noisy, this room was awful! There no screens on the windows, the sheets were not even the right size for the bed. I felt like I was staying in someone’s garage that they rented out for extra cash. The only thing good about this unit is the location. And used old bedding, curtains and blankets that they had laying around. Thankfully, I had slippers with me because I did not want to walk on the floor with my bare feet. The shower curtain needs to be replaced. The sink needs to be fixed. It just wasn’t uncomfortable place to stay. Thankfully it was only for one night. I certainly would not have extended my stay. If this is truly going to be used as a quote vacation rental“ it needs to be redone. I went to get a drink of water and the plastic glass I pulled out of the cupboard was dirty. The cabinets have a hodgepodge of stuff in them that makes no sense. There are no dishes, one wine, glass, etc. The owner of this unit should be ashamed to call it a vacation rental. It looks like a second home that they don’t care what it looks like when they get there. It really was a very unpleasant stay, but when I arrived, it was too late to get another hotel room. Icky icky icky! If you’re going to book through this company, be aware if they represent a unit like this, the other units are probably just as nasty. If there was a place to attach photos, I would and you all could see that I’m not exaggerating.

    My wife and I stayed here for just under two weeks and enjoyed having access to the pool, gym, and laundry during our stay. I would describe the building as a little old, but well maintained and clean - especially the common areas. The location is perfect for any type of traveler visiting Honolulu.

    The room was very small, and didn't seem to be clean. The toiletries were very limited and the whole room was very cluttered. The chairs were also dirty.

    Location was ok. Just down the street from the hop on hop off trolley stop. The bed was great, but didn’t have fitted sheets so we went and bought a set of sheets. Furniture is worn down, except the bed, and the lamps flickered. The worst was the communication with the host. We didn’t get ANY check-in information until 3:13pm the day we were suppose to check-in at 4pm. I ended up having to call support to make sure that we were at the right spot. Then when we got to the room, the room door was ajar. The door was difficult to close and occasionally wouldn’t shut and lock. The attached hotel has a nice restaurant and a bakery for the mornings.

    The location of the accommodation was convenient, being just down the street from the hop on hop off trolley stop. The bed was comfortable, but it was lacking fitted sheets, so we had to purchase a set ourselves. The furniture in the room appeared worn down, with the exception of the bed, and some of the lamps flickered intermittently.

    One of the major issues we encountered was the lack of communication with the host. We did not receive any check-in information until 3:13 pm on the day we were supposed to check-in at 4 pm. This caused some unnecessary stress and confusion, leading us to contact support for assistance. Additionally, when we finally arrived at the room, we found the door slightly ajar, which was concerning.

    On a positive note, the attached hotel had a nice restaurant where we enjoyed a meal, and a bakery where we could grab breakfast in the mornings. Overall, while the location and bed were satisfactory, the lack of communication and maintenance issues were disappointing.

    First night there, I was awoken at 6am to the sound of sledge hammers, saws, drills, etc from the neighboring unit.When I opened the door to see what emergency was unfolding I discovered it was just regular everyday thing people do there, and the guy opened his door and a massive amount of chemical laden and cement dust laden air wafted directly into my face and eyes etc, and the guy who did spoke no English just said 'sorry sorry' like it fixed the whole thing. The next night, I was awoken at 3am in a pool of sweat because the power went out and it was not restored until nearly 9am. At this point, I was almost having a medical emergency due to the lack of sleep. They claimed no responsibility, didn't even offer a sincere apology and offered no recourse. If I wasn't so lazy I would sue but it's not worth it.
