Enjoy expansive ocean views in this beautiful one-bedroom one-bath with large wraparound lanai on Kuhio Ave. Located in the lovely Pacific Monarch building, this gorgeous home includes both indoor and outdoor dining areas, full kitchen, full bath and private bedroom with plentiful views and natural lighting. The Pacific Monarch features a breathtaking rooftop pool, spa and sundeck and a prime location steps away from Waikiki Beach, shopping, restaurants and more.

This home is a remodeled 1bd/1ba with a full kitchen, full bath, private bedroom and private lanai in the Pacific Monarch building. This unit is located on the 10th floor. Elevators are available.

This unit does not include parking. The Pacific Monarch building manages an attached parking garage that can be purchased from the front desk.

LOCATION

This ideally located home is tucked along the shop and restaurant-dotted Kuhio Ave and a block from the world-famous Kalakaua Ave. The Pacific Monarch is a secured building steps away from Duke’s Lane eateries and ABC Stores and a short stroll to Waikiki Beach. Easy access to Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Center, Diamond Head Monument/Hike, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Honolulu Zoo, and Waikiki Aquarium.

This unit is not part of the hotel pool. This property is independently owned and managed and does not offer/include daily cleanings or linen services.

    The location was centrally located to a lot. The beach is 2 blocks away. The zoo is easy walking distance. So many choices on food right there. Nail salon a couple doors down. Shopping all around you. Some very popular hikes are 20-30 min drive away. About 30 min drive from Pearl Harbor. About a 10 min drive from Walmart.
    I loved their is an inside and outside area to seat a group of 4. Pool, hot tub, bean bags, grills and pool table at location roof. Overall a great stay. A couple of recommendations: switch out the shower temperature/activator it goes in and out so hard you think you will pull it off the wall, 1 coffee pot is sufficient, a toaster and blender would be very nice, instead of more coffee pots/kuerig.

    As other reviews have mentioned, the condition of this condo is in poor condition. Some issues:
    1. The place smelled of mold or mildew.
    2. The fan in the bedroom is useless because its plugged up with dirt and dust. It was better to open the door in early evening when there are trade winds to cut down the heat.
    3. Unable to close any vertical blinds in the living room or bedroom since they their position cannot be changed and many are broken or missing. Just opening the lanai door caused 2 to break. Many gaps in the blinds so unit can get quite warm.
    4. There are no glasses in cupboard, only 2 large plastic cups.
    5. There are no beach towels and beach chairs are in very poor condition.
    6. Depending on time of year, there might not be much more cost to stay in the kitchen units that are part of the hotel pool. Those units are looked after and you do get beach towels and beach chairs. During my visit, I checked the price and it was $30 a night more.
    7. One lanai chair's webbing is broken at the edge and catches clothes.

    This condo is in DETERIORATING condition: bathtub enamel is worn through to rust which wasn't removed after cleanig; bath/shower tile grout was black with mildew/mold even after cleaning; sofa upholstery is torn and smells of mildew; filter in wall air conditioning unit was black with mildew/mold/dirt; pictures removed from the wall were stacked on the floor; all lamp shades were water stained and in poor condition; vertical shade slats on living room sliding door were broken off in multiple places; aluminum track for bedroom sliding door is so corroded we were not able to shut/lock door; all furniture surfaces were dusty; bedsheet thread count was paper thin and translucent revealing the mattress pad below; bathroom vanity/counter tiles were broken off and replaced with laminate pieces; all furniture was in poor condition (scratched, old) and looks similar to free furniture listed on CL. Spent $1800 for 7 days and we couldn't stay one night because of the state of the condo/apartment. Called the contact phone number given for this unit and the representative said that they had to contact the property management company (Novation) in order to get authorization for remedial action, and instructed "We should stand by our phone and stay in the apartment awaiting a call back which may take up to 24 hours to happen." I would not jest: this response was considered appropriate customer support. My recommendation is to stay clear of this Novation-owned rental and buyer beware of VRBO listings. This is the second poor experience we've had with VRBO listings. If you're going to stay in Waikiki Beach, I highly recommend the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel where we stayed for $50 more per night for a gorgeous, drop-dead ocean view room on the 30th floor, first class customer service, first class hotel rooms with on-site maintenance and housekeeping.

    Sofa was torn and dirty, Shower tile grout was moldy, bathtub had a quarter sized chip that was rusted, shower knob very difficult to operate, window blinds had missing vanes and were virtually unusable, dining plates badly chipped, tiny forks must have been designed for a six year old, dining table and chair were mismatched making to table too tall, I had to sit on a cushion and I am six feet tall Televisions never worked properly despite a couple of efforts by maintenance. On that note,the maintenance person came in while we were gone and without notice, two chairs on patio unraveling and could not be sat on in shorts. On the plus side, the locations was good, front desk staff friendly and helpful. I have stayed at the Pacific Monarch in the past and enjoyed my stay. However I absolutely would not recommend this unit to anyone.

    The condo was not very clean. It only had 1 set of sheets and towels, and just the basic kitchen utensils. The biggest complaint would be the window blinds. The wouldn't open/close and the were missing slats. Also, there was no air conditioning in the bedroom. Overall not a great place to stay.

    We needed to find a budget friendly location and this was perfect It's an easy block and a half from the beach (you've got pretty great views as well!). The queen bed isn't super comfy but having a separate bedroom is a plus. The bathroom is tiny - shower is very old and a bit rusted. The lanai is great. It has everything you need for a fully outfitted condo. The pool and roof top aren't super nice but we spent time up there and enjoyed ourselves. There are food trucks next door that are good and cheap! Would be nice if there was a broom and dust pan - we had to vacuum several times due to sand and such.
